Multi-mouth traversable wormholes

چکیده

A bstract We describe the construction of traversable wormholes with multiple mouths in four spacetime dimensions and discuss associated quantum entanglement. Our may be traversed between any pair mouths. In particular, three-mouth case they have fundamental group F 2 (the free on two generators). By contrast, connecting three regions A, B, C pairs ( AB , BC AC ) using separate would give 3 . solutions are asymptotically flat up to presence possible magnetic fluxes or cosmic strings that extend infinity. The begins a two-mouth wormhole supported by backreaction from fields. Inserting sufficiently small black hole into its throat preserves traversability original This is taken mouth another new distant region spacetime. Making manner similar provides desired causal connections. From dual field theory point view, when AdS asymptotics added our construction, multiparty entanglement play an important role resulting wormhole.

Rotating traversable wormholes

The general form of a stationary, axially symmetric traversable wormhole is discussed. This is a generalization of the static, spherically symmetric wormholes first considered by Morris and Thorne. It is shown that such a wormhole generically violates the null energy condition at the throat. However, an example is presented in which a class of geodesics falling through it do not encounter any e...

Phantom energy traversable wormholes

It has been suggested that a possible candidate for the present accelerated expansion of the Universe is “phantom energy”. The latter possesses an equation of state of the form ω ≡ p/ρ < −1, consequently violating the null energy condition. As this is the fundamental ingredient to sustain traversable wormholes, this cosmic fluid presents us with a natural scenario for the existence of these exo...

Nonexistence theorems for traversable wormholes

Gauss–Bonnet formula is used to derive a new and simple theorem of nonexistence of vacuum static nonsingular lorentzian wormholes. We also derive simple proofs for the nonexistence of lorentzian wormhole solutions for some classes of static matter such as, for instance, real scalar fields with a generic potential obeying φV ′(φ) ≥ 0 and massless fermions fields.

Traversable wormholes: the Roman ring

In this brief report I introduce a yet another class of geometries for which semi-classical chronology protection theorems are of dubious physical reliability. I consider a “Roman ring” of traversable wormholes, wherein a number of wormholes are arranged in a ring in such a manner that no subset of wormholes is near to chronology violation, though the combined system can be arbitrarily close to...

Traversable wormholes: Some simple examples.

Building on the work of Morris, Thorne, and Yurtsever, some particularly simple examples of traversable wormholes are exhibited. These examples are notable both because the analysis is not limited to spherically symmetric cases, and because it is possible to in some sense minimize the use of exotic matter. In particular, it is possible for a traveller to traverse such a wormhole without passing...
